John Clifford Alderson (Cliff) went to the next planet on 31 Dec 2007, aged 81 years,after a sudden heart attack. He lived in Darlington for most of his life but was originally from Hartlepool.
He had a wonderful wife Nell, who sadly passed away in July 2005, a son called Stephen, who was taken too soon in Feb 1993.He has a daughter called Janet & another son called Jon. He also has grandaughters called Kay, Caroline & Katherine and two grandsons called Robert & Mark. Mark was sadly taken away far too soon, in Feb 2007.He also was a great-grandad to Macey Grace.
Although he was 81, he was extremely young at heart, very active and great fun to be with.
Cliff was my Grandad and he meant the world to me. I looked upon him more as a father figure. He was kind hearted, fun, generous, warm, loving,hardworking,jolly & patient.
I lived with both my grandparents when I was a small child and they played a large part in my upbringing.
He had many interests, the main one being his love for the Coldstream Guards that he was proud to have been in. He enjoyed music, gardening, holidays & eating out. The love for his family was what he held the most.
I have so many happpy memories of him that I will never forget.
Rest in peace.
